Gingrich Comes Out Strong On Gun Rights And Energy At Annual NRA Meeting

Newt Gingrich came out strong in favor of sustaining America’s freedom and supporting the second amendment in a speech given at the NRA show. Following closely on the heels of Mitt Romney’s address to the NRA audience Gingrich opened by saying: “In Gingrich administration — on very first day I would sign an executive order instructing the justice dept to look into what happened to fast and furious and who was responsible.

He went on to address energy concerns by saying: “I would also open up offshore and federal land to the development of oil and gas for the specific purpose of American energy independence so that no future president ever again bows to a Saudi king.”

Focussing on issues directly affecting gun owners Gingrich said: “the right to bear arms comes from our creator not our government. It is one of the unalienable rights alluded to in the Declaration of Independence.”

Gingrich went on to say: “A Gingrich presidency will submit to the UN a treaty that extends the right to bear arms as a human right for every person on the planet because every person deserves the right to defend themselves against persons who would exploit them, rape them, or kill them.”
