It’s the scariest phrase to anyone who enjoys shooting, and our Second Amendment rights are constantly under fire.

- Over the past century, all types of gun control laws have been implemented in different parts of the United States. Everything from purchase restrictions to complete gun bans has been tried. These laws have not worked, and in some cases have had the opposite effect from what was intended.
If there’s one phrase that will scare hunters and shooters the most when it comes to politics it is “gun control.”
Gun control is defined as the regulation of the selling, owning, and use of guns, but it’s the regulation of the selling and the owning that gets hunters and shooters worried.
The gun control issue is far-reaching, from the Assault Weapons Ban to the Brady Bill, the anti-gun lobby consistently tries to limit our Second Amendment rights. Current issues, like President Obama’s 23-point gun control plan and Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s (D-Calif.) recent introduction of legislation that includes bans on more than 150 types of semi-automatic weapons with military-style features and high-capacity magazine, could have lasting negative impacts on the future of gun sales even for recreational shooters.
As hunters and shooters continue to face threats on our Second Amendment rights, it will be more important than ever to stay abreast of legislative issues, Supreme Court appointments and other important decisions that may directly affect their rights as gun owners.
